A generator that has never been load tested, or a transfer switch wired to the wrong loads, is a false sense of security. Emergency, legally required and optional standby systems each carry their own code requirements, and healthcare and mission-critical facilities add transfer time and redundancy on top.
We install the complete backup power path: generator set and connections, fuel and exhaust coordination with the mechanical trades, transfer switches, UPS and batteries, and the distribution they feed. Then we test it with the owner watching, so everyone knows it works before the day it has to.

FAQ
Common questions.
What is the difference between emergency and standby power?
Emergency systems (NEC 700) power life safety loads like egress lighting and must transfer within 10 seconds. Legally required standby (NEC 701) and optional standby (NEC 702) serve other loads with less strict requirements. Each has to be kept separate as the code requires.
Do you install UPS systems as well as generators?
Yes. For data rooms and critical equipment we install the UPS and batteries to carry the load through the transfer, and the generator to carry it after.
Can you add a generator to an existing building?
Yes. We assess the existing service and distribution, separate the loads to be backed up, and plan the tie-in with a short scheduled shutdown.
